      How to Apply for Graduation

      A formal graduation exercise is held annually at the end of the spring semester at Navarro College. This exercise is for those students who are completing requirements during the spring semester, who have completed requirements during the preceding summer or fall semesters, who are completing the final six (6) semester credit hours or less required for graduation during the following summer term. To participate in the graduation exercise, the student must submit an application for graduation to the Registrar’s Office no later than the date published in the calendar.

      Students may graduate under the catalog and programs in effect at the time of their initial enrollment as long as they have had continuous enrollment. Missing one long semester (fall or spring) constitutes a break in enrollment and students will be required to adhere to the catalog and programs in effect at the time of their re-enrollment. Students also have the choice of graduating under the catalog and programs in effect at the time of graduation. Students must choose one or the other and may not combine rules or programs from two or more catalogs.

      IMPORTANT DEADLINES
      DEADLINE FOR FALL 2021 CANDIDATES
      There is no walking ceremony in December. Fall candidates will receive their diplomas after the end of the fall semester and have the option to walk in the graduation ceremony in May. Deadline to apply for December graduation is Monday, November 1, 2021.

      DEADLINE FOR SPRING 2022 CANDIDATES
      The deadline to apply for graduation is Friday, March 11, 2022 for all spring candidates.

      YOU MAY APPLY FOR GRADUATION IF YOU MEET ALL OF THE FOLLOWING CRITERIA:
      1. You are completing course requirements for your degree during the spring semester;
      2. You are completing the final 6 semester credit hours or less required for graduation during the following 2022 summer term;
      3. You have completed requirements during the preceding summer or fall semesters.

      NOTE:
      If you have more than 6 semester credit hours to complete your degree requirements you will NOT submit an application for graduation at this time.

      Should you need assistance with your degree plan, please contact your Academic Advisor Success Coach.

      To participate in the graduation exercise, you must submit an application for graduation to the Office of Admissions and Records no later than Friday, March 11, 2022.

      If you do not intend to participate in the graduation ceremony, but would like a diploma or certificate, you still must fill out the graduation application and submit it by Friday, March 11, 2022.

      WHAT TO EXPECT AFTER YOU'VE APPLIED
      All students that apply for graduation will receive a confirmation email from the Office of Admissions & Records/Graduation staff. Please allow time for processing as we anticipate a high volume of graduation applications.

      Be sure to check your Navarro College student email in Office 365 (MyNC Portal) as all graduation communication will be sent there.  If you have any questions or need more information about graduation requirements, please contact the Graduation staff.
